Having the character of Christ is not based on what you eat, what you wear, what kind of music you listen to, or if you follow all the rules and traditions of your religion.
Having the character of Christ is about your love for others. Your treatment toward others who are not like you. The way you encourage and empower others to be the best they can be. The way you speak up against discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, misogyny, and anything that devalues human life.
Having the character of Christ is never about following a mold of perfection and superiority… it will always be about sharing the love of Jesus while still knowing how imperfect we are.
So don’t believe anyone who tells you that Jesus will come sooner only if you conform to perfection and comply with human standards of what that looks like.
Jesus never, ever said that.
What He did say is “Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me.” Matthew 25:40
