Faith like a Child

Our youngest child Joel, has been practicing piano for almost two years now and he has been doing great! But lately he has been expressing that he does not like piano and complains that it is too hard, that he would rather play another instrument. As some of you might do or have done, we told him that piano is the best instrument, how we wished we could have continued learning to play the piano and regret we never mastered the gift.

Today Joel had his first piano class after summer break, and he seemed pretty happy to be there. At the end of his class, he began talking about how to take care of our bodies and help our white blood cells by eating healthy. He also talked about how God and His angels protect us, that they form a force field around us keeping us from harm and danger, and any illness. He mentioned the prayer of Jabez in detail, I was so proud of him!

At that moment, his piano teacher asked Him to pray for her daughter who was not well with her health, and Joel immediately said ‘yes!’. He sat down next to her and asked God to heal her daughter and to take the sickness away. The prayer was short and sweet, coming from a sincere heart.

I was so proud to see my son talk about God and how he takes care of us. It made my day to see him willing to pray without hesitation and asking God to heal someone he did not know personally.

Looking at him I am reminded how God wants us to have a child like faith, to believe that all things are possible just by asking.

I pray that God can keep working in me to have faith like I saw in my child today. To believe that He can still do miracles and desires to heal us if we only ask.

Don’t be afraid to talk about God and His goodness. Always be willing to pray for someone in need, and believe that God listens and answers.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:17

“Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4
